Social Security Disability

Appealing a Denial of Social Security Disability Benefits?

One of the ways we define a civilized society is by how it treats its disabled citizens. The safety net of Social Security stretches across this country to catch those unfortunate enough to be physically or psychologically disabled; those who cannot work due to their conditions. Yet the majority of initial Social Security disability benefits claims are rejected; many because the applicant simply didn't know the process well enough to be successful.

The attorneys of the Law Offices of Steiner, Segal, Muller and Donan understand Social Security disability appeals as few lawyers or laypeople ever will. Why? Simply put, we live the law. We have spent over 25 years focusing on successful navigation of that enormous government bureaucracy. We know what it takes to prevail there.

Don't allow a denial of a Social Security disability claim to prevent you from obtaining full, fair benefits. Call 215-789-9375 in Philadelphia or toll-free in the metro area at 866-586-4956. We offer complimentary initial consultations.

Can I be Helped?

You can be eligible for Social Security disability benefits if you meet some basic requirements:

  • You have a total disability preventing you from working
  • Your disability has lasted at least six months
  • You have paid into the Social Security system via prior earned wages (if not, you can still apply for Supplemental Security Income - SSI)

If the Social Security administration denies your application, you may appeal the decision in a hearing with an Administrative Law Judge. Testimony for and against your position will be heard. You have the right to have an attorney in that hearing in which an effective appeal means a denial of benefits is overturned. It's to your advantage to make full use of your rights in any circumstance in which your financial well-being can be at stake.

Call 215-789-9375 in Philadelphia or toll-free in the metro area at 866-586-4956. Free initial consultations. Se habla Español.

If you have had SSD denied, and an injury or illness prevents you from going to one of our four offices, please let us know. We can have an experienced SSD appeal attorney meet you in your home.
